Brazilian star wants to arsenal next summer

Arsenal Football Club is reportedly setting its sights on Newcastle United's standout midfielder, Bruno Guimaraes, as part of an ambitious summer transfer strategy. The Gunners' incoming sporting director, Andrea Berta, is believed to be a driving force behind this pursuit, aiming to bolster the squad's midfield options ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Guimaraes, a 27-year-old Brazilian international, has been instrumental in Newcastle's recent successes, including their historic Carabao Cup victory, the club's first major trophy in 70 years. Since his arrival from Lyon in 2022, Guimaraes has made 144 appearances, contributing 20 goals and 24 assists, and has become a fan favorite on Tyneside.

Reports indicate that Arsenal has submitted an opening offer of €70 million (£60 million) for Guimaraes. However, Newcastle is reportedly determined to retain their key players, including Guimaraes, and may demand a higher fee to consider a transfer.

The potential acquisition of Guimaraes aligns with Arsenal's broader transfer plans, which also include pursuits of Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi and Newcastle's Alexander Isak. These moves are part of a strategic effort to strengthen the squad, particularly in midfield and attack, to mount a more robust challenge in domestic and European competitions.

While the prospect of Guimaraes donning the Arsenal jersey is tantalizing for supporters, negotiations are still in the early stages. The outcome will depend on various factors, including Newcastle's willingness to negotiate and Arsenal's ability to meet the valuation. Fans will be keenly watching as developments unfold in the lead-up to the transfer window.
