Arsenal Sets Sights on french striker as Transfer Window Heats Up

 

Arsenal is reportedly making significant moves in the transfer market as they identify Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike as a potential signing to strengthen their attack ahead of the new season. With Mikel Arteta keen to add more firepower to his squad, the French forward has emerged as one of the Gunners’ primary targets.  

Ekitike, 22, has been in impressive form for Frankfurt, showcasing his goal-scoring prowess and technical ability. The former Paris Saint-Germain forward has adapted well to the Bundesliga, registering 19 goals and eight assists in all competitions this season. His performances have caught the attention of several top clubs, but Arsenal is believed to be leading the race for his signature.  

The North London club has been monitoring striking options in recent months, with reports suggesting they initially considered a move for Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak. However, with Newcastle demanding a hefty £150 million for the Swedish international, Arsenal has turned their attention to more affordable alternatives. Ekitike, whose market value is estimated to be around £60 million, presents a financially viable option without compromising quality.  

Sources close to Arsenal’s recruitment team indicate that Arteta sees Ekitike as a player who could fit seamlessly into his tactical system. The young forward possesses excellent movement, finishing ability, and versatility, traits that align well with Arsenal’s dynamic style of play. With Gabriel Jesus struggling for consistency and Eddie Nketiah failing to cement a starting spot, the Gunners view Ekitike as a potential long-term solution in their attack.  

However, Arsenal is not the only club interested in securing the services of the talented Frenchman. Manchester United and Chelsea are also reportedly keeping tabs on his situation, while Liverpool has included him on their shortlist of attacking targets. The growing interest in Ekitike could lead to a bidding war, with Frankfurt expected to demand at least €80 million (£67 million) to part ways with their prized asset.  

Despite the competition, Arsenal remains optimistic about their chances. The club’s hierarchy is expected to initiate discussions with Frankfurt in the coming weeks as they assess the feasibility of a potential deal. Negotiations could prove challenging, given Frankfurt’s firm stance on their valuation, but Arsenal’s ambition to strengthen their squad could see them push forward with a serious bid.  

As the summer transfer window approaches, the Gunners are determined to reinforce key areas of their squad to compete at the highest level. With Ekitike’s pace, technical ability, and finishing making him a highly desirable prospect, Arsenal fans will be eagerly awaiting further developments on what could be one of the club’s biggest signings of the summer.
